Based in Las Vegas, Nick Schmitt is a versatile bassist known for his work on both upright and electric bass. He studied at UNLV where he graduated with a degree in Jazz Studies.

Nick has toured and performed with acts such as Postmodern Jukebox, The Alternate Routes, Bobby Yang, and The Lique, and has collaborated with artists including Bob Mintzer, Jane Monheit, Houston Person, Bijon Watson, and more. He has opened for artists such as Anderson .Paak, Hiatus Kaiyote, Questlove, Big Boi of Outkast, Flo Rida, and many more.

A regular on Las Vegas’ top stages, some of his past credits include shows such as Jersey Boys, Baz, Postmodern Jukebox, The Mayfair Supper Club, Delilah, and Life Is Beautiful Festival. He is a priority call for top-tier traveling and local acts throughout the country and primarily Las Vegas.

In addition to his live work, Nick is also an active recording artist, bringing the same precision and feel into the studio that he maintains on live stages. You can currently find Nick on many different live Vegas stages including The Smith Center, Vic’s, Delilah, Nowhere Lounge, Maxan, Easy’s, Dustland, Poodle Room, and many more.

When teaching, Nick takes a unique approach to each student and designs lessons around their skill level and interests. He plays both upright and electric bass and is well-versed in all genres as well as highly knowledgeable in music theory.
